What you get back
Korea’s VAT is 10%, but refund operators take a fee, so you typically receive around 5–8% of the purchase price. A minimum spend per receipt applies; ask at the till.
What changed in 2026
From 1 January 2026, cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medical procedures are no longer eligible for the tourist tax refund. Cosmetics and skincare products bought in shops remain eligible.
At the airport
If customs needs to see your purchases, claim before checking in your bags. Keep items unused and receipts together.
