1. Airport limousine bus (easiest)

Routes 6015 and 6001 run from both terminals into the Myeongdong area and stop in front of or near many hotels. 6015 suits central Myeongdong and the Namdaemun side; 6001 continues on to Chungmuro and Dongdaemun. At Terminal 2 the 6015 leaves from stop 28 on level B1. Buy a ticket at the arrivals-hall kiosk, or pay on board with cash or a T-money card.

The white K-Limousine buses (67xx routes) cost a little more and make fewer stops. Check which stop is closest to your hotel before you board; your hotel’s website usually says which bus to take.

2. AREX train + subway (fastest)

Take the AREX Express to Seoul Station (non-stop), or the cheaper All-Stop train, which makes several stops on the way. At Seoul Station, transfer to Line 4 (light blue) towards Danggogae and ride two stops to Myeongdong Station. The All-Stop train accepts T-money; the Express needs its own ticket. The transfer at Seoul Station involves a fair walk, so this route is better with light luggage.

3. Taxi

Use the official taxi ranks outside arrivals. The fare is metered and the expressway tolls are added on top, so expect a much higher total than the bus. Show the driver your hotel’s name and address in Korean. International taxis (with English-speaking drivers) are available at a fixed-zone fare.

Getting back to the airport

The same limousine routes run in reverse from stops around Myeongdong; ask your hotel front desk for the nearest stop and first departure. Allow extra time on weekday evenings, when traffic into the airport expressway is heavier.

Before you go

  • Buy a T-money card at an airport convenience store; you’ll use it for the subway, buses and many taxis.
  • Timetables change seasonally. Check the official Airport Limousine and AREX sites or Naver Map on the day.
